ALSTOM Laminations and Tooling is a business unit within ALSTOM Electrical Machines which is a division of ALSTOM SA (Pty.) Ltd. The unit supplies motor laminations to its sister companies on the site and also supplies laminations to third party motor manufacturers and repairers. They also design and manufacture punching and blanking tools for their own use, for sister companies in Europe and for the local industry.

We have design and manufacturing capability for a broad spectrum of lamination tooling including simple slot tools, blanking and splitting tools, large multistage progression tools and complex compound tools. |

Laminations for the repair industry ALSTOM Laminations and Tooling carries a huge range of existing lamination tooling and is in a position to manufacture low cost, short run tools with short lead times to service the diverse needs of the motor repair industry. Our typical lead time for a replacement set of laminations is four weeks. |

Laminations for motors and alternators We manufacture a full range of laminations to customers' requirements ranging from high volume fractional horsepower motors up to one off sets of segmental laminations of any diameter, typically up to 3 metres outside diameter. The range includes pole pieces and armatures for DC machines and salient pole rotors for alternators and synchronous motors. No lamination is too large or too small. All of the required tooling is manufactured in house at competitive prices. |

Stacked Cores and Pole Pieces In addition to manufacturing the full spectrum of motor and alternator laminations we are able to offer stacked and cleated, welded or riveted core packs and fully assembled laminated and solid pole pieces. With the backing of our sister company, ALSTOM Large Machines, we are able to handled complex repairs such as rebuilding segmental rotor cores and manufacturing stator core and frame assemblies. |
